Specially designed polymer jian that we use for World Jianshu League sword dueling competition. It is made from a speical blend of engineering polymers that allows the jian to be extra durable while remaining its flexibile to absorb impact.

Adam Hsu Sword

Designed by world-renowned Chinese martial arts master Sifu Adam Hsu, these Chinese straight swords (Jian) are becoming the weapon of choice in the Tai Chi community. Functionality, weight and balance are paramount considerations in Sifu Hsu's designs, while Hanwei's quality and workmanship give the swords a graceful and pleasing appearance.

The blades are crafted in high-carbon spring steel and have a pronounced center ridge and distal taper, producing exactly the right degree of stiffness and a very audible hiss in the cutting stroke. The Ming-style steel guards have an embossed Dragon symbol, while the open-ended pommels facilitate the fitting of a tassel.

Fencing Gloves

The “Stryker” glove by Ronin Products is the next step in weaponry hand protection. Finding the balance between grip and protection when it comes to gloves used to be impossible. You could go with a modified bag glove that had great grip but poor protection. A Hockey/ lacrosse type glove provides great protection and good grip if you don’t mind the “ham fist”.

The Stryker finds a nice balance. The grip is superb, especially when paired with the new handles on the “ActionFlex” line on weaponry. While it is not as protective as the hockey glove, the padding is strategically placed, making it the perfect sword glove. During the testing stage the initial design was altered many times before the production model, each time improving a challenging area. Gloves are notorious for retaining heat. This problem has been addressed by mesh finger sides, perforated back of hand pad, and breathable fabrics. Grip is improved with a special fabric sewn to the palm. The wrist is fully articulating and is covered approximately 3” past the wrist bone, making your strikes lightning fast! Feel good about your gloves.

Fencing Mask

From first lesson to first competitions – a good beginner’s mask that is also good for all levels of World Jianshu League competitions and is a solid practice mask with a noise-reducing vinyl head band. Outside: strong (passes 12kg punch test) with insulated mesh; pliable, felt-filled sewn-in bib that lays close to the jacket, protecting the neck, unlike stiff bibs that curl up dangerously around the edges

Inside: lined for comfort with non-irritating fabric; hygienic because lining is cleanable; fitted for extra safety with forehead restraint to prevent mask from jamming against nose in a jarring contact and detachable elastic strap holds the bottom of the head close, just as tab holds in the top.

Body Guard
